Cellebrating Stained Glass in the Northland

Enjoy a free 30 minute video highlighting the beauty and history of Pilgrim's stained glass windows. Descendents of the benefactors of one of the Tiffany windows, and the production team, will be available following the video for questions and answers.

East End Walking Tour

This 30 page color brochure is suitable for the coffee table and for carrying in the hand as a guide to touring a 24 block area of magnificent homes in East Duluth. As a nicely bound volume it is available for sale at downtown book and gift shops, bed & breakfasts, and other resellers. It can also be downloaded from this web site as a PDF file.

Historic County Jail

Preservation and Adaptive Reuse of the St. Louis County Jail in the Duluth Civic Center was a major cause for the DPA in 2009 and 2010. A collection of Duluth News Tribune news articles, editorials and letters to the editor provides an account of the interaction between the City, the County, and the private sector led by the DPA.

The D. Clint Prescott House

In 1888 D. Clint Prescott, secretary and general manager of the Marinette Iron Works Company, built this home for himself on 54th Avenue West in Duluth. It was razed in 1948. As described in Duluth's Legacy, Vol. 1, the three-story home was a carnival of dormers and gables, porches and verandahs, carving and spindles, chimneys and towers, bargeboards and lattices and gaily-dressed lightning rods. Nowhere on the house could the observer find a moment of visual rest.
