Historic Brownstone

Come join the DPA and learn about the history of Duluth’s brownstone quarries and the brownstone buildings built in Duluth. Brian Klawitter will be speaking about his extensive research and showing a wonderful power-point presentation documenting this very interesting period in Duluth’s history.

In addition, we will be given a tour of an impressive brownstone, the First Presbyterian Church, an 1891 masterpiece designed by Oliver Traphagen and Francis Fitzpatrick. Be sure not to miss this event!

Parking: Take 3rd Avenue East below the church and parking is available in the alley, there are two marked lots entering building: There is a door in the alley with a canopy and elevator if needed or enter by door on the avenue which also has a ramp available.
