Reader's view: Why was old jail allowed to fall into disrepair? |
| Reading the newspaper, one hears about the old county jail and other buildings owned by the city or county and what may happen to them as they fall deeper into disrepair.
As a taxpayer, I would like to ask why? Don't the city and county have schedules to keep up, maintain and repair the buildings they own? What would happen to individual residences if homeowners and landlords let their properties fall into as bad shape as some public buildings? We'd be left with a city of slums. Majel Folen Duluth |
